I have been contacted by Blast! Films of London who are making a new serries for BBC TWO that explores and celebrates families. They are looking for people to take part in the series.
They can be contacted on 020 7267 4260 or by e-mail at: celebration@blastfilms.co.uk
Welcome to my website which concentrates on persons who were either born, married or died in Shetland, along with their descendants. More and more I am moving into other counties, so there is increasing information on Orcadian family lines, along with a little from the fishing villages from Peterhead to Buckie.
This database is a compilation of information that has been provided from many different sources. Many people, far too numerous to mention, have put in a lot of work to document the history of the people and families represented here. It is to them most of all that one should be truly thankful!
I do hope that you will find that the information provided is useful. If you would like to correct or add to any of the information that is in this site, then please email whatever information you may have. The preferred way would be to send me information in a GEDCOM format, however I can accept data in whatever format you find easiest.
Finally there are still some problems in how both Reunion and TNG manage the import of data onto the website. Thus if you see an entry which is obviously very wrong, then please let me know, so that I can manually correct the entry.
I am receiving quite a number of requests each day from users who wish me to set up a TNG account for them. I am not sure why, but I can assure everyone that ALL of the information is viewable on the website, and that there is nothing hidden, except that I have masked the information about people who are still living.
If you still wish to login I have setup a default account for all, with a username of user and a password of password.
I have had to move to an alternative method of hosting the website, and should you wish to help with a contribution to the costs of running the site, then that would be very much appreciated.
